Does this replace the rear window?
No. This is an add-on handle for a compatible rear window, not a replacement glass assembly.

Do I need to drill into the glass?

Can I use it on an aftermarket rear window?
Confirm the window shape and mounting surface with R1 before ordering. An aftermarket window is not automatically compatible because the vehicle is an Xpedition.
