Can Am XDS Tender Spring Installation

Position machine on level flat ground. Lift machine with secure jack and remove tires.

Start with either front or rear clean shock body threads with brake cleaner and soft wire brush to remove debris. This is very important. Go ahead and loosen the large nut on top of the spring called the spanner nut.

Remove shocks and place on the workbench and then finish loosening the spanner nut until the spring pack is completely loose. Now remove the slotted retainer at the bottom of the shock. Your springs should slide off.

Remove OE tender springs, remove both tender springs on the rear and replace with the ATU spring (they will go on top of the large spring)

Lube the threads and tighten the spanner nut down onto the tender spring ADD1 INCH OF PRELOAD

Re install shocks and re torque the shock bolts. Drive the machine forward and backwards 5 ft to settle the suspension

set your ride height by adjusting your spanner nut up or down. Down to lift the machine up to lower the machine. The final setting is your ride height because most machines are customized and weigh differently.

set your crossover ring at 2 inches above the black slider after you have settled the machine by moving forward and backwards
Ride height measurement will be measured on the front right behind the front lower A arm where the frame is, AND to the ground

rear will be measured under lower radius rod at frame to the ground REAR will be 1 inch lower than rear
