Which UTV Spring Kit Do You Need? Tender Springs, Full Kits and Fitment

by Dustin Robbins 25 Sep 2025
Illustration of a blue coil spring on rocky terrain with topographic lines and the title Why Tender Spring Kits Are Essential for UTVs.

A tender spring kit upgrades the tender springs while keeping your main springs. A complete upper-and-lower spring kit replaces both. The right starting point is the machine you own, the shocks installed on it and which parts of its spring package you want to replace.

All Thingz UTV offers both types for specific applications. Here is how to compare them without confusing a complete tender set with a complete spring replacement.

Tender springs or a full spring kit?

If your main springs still suit your machine and usual load, a tender spring kit lets you change the tender springs while retaining the mains and shock assemblies. Our tender kits are intended to improve comfort over uneven trails. Available packages vary by model; some offer a complete set, front pair or rear pair.

If you also need to replace the main springs, look at the matching complete spring package. For example, our earlier-body XP 1000 two-seat dual-rate kit replaces upper and lower springs when you select the full kit. Its lowers-only option is a different purchase.

Example: earlier-body XP 1000, two seats What you receive What stays on the machine
Walker Evans tender kit, full set Two front and two rear tender springs Main springs and shock assemblies
Dual-rate kit, full package Four front and four rear springs, replacing upper and lower springs, plus two crossover rings Shock assemblies
Dual-rate kit, lowers-only option Four lower springs Upper springs and shock assemblies

Read the option as well as the product name. “Full kit” on the tender listing means four tender springs. It does not mean the eight-spring upper-and-lower package.

Start with the correct XP 1000 application

Separate the earlier XP 1000 body style from the redesigned 2024+ model first. Then select two or four seats and the shock brand actually installed. Do not substitute an XP Turbo, Turbo R or Pro XP kit because the name looks similar.

Your XP 1000 Where to start
Earlier body, two seats, Walker Evans Two-seat Walker Evans tender kit
Earlier body, two seats, Fox Two-seat Fox tender kit
2024+ body, two seats, Walker Evans 2024+ two-seat Walker Evans tender kit
2024+ body, two seats, Fox 2024+ two-seat Fox tender kit
Four seats, either body style XP 1000 spring collection: select the four-seat listing for your body style and shocks

Some earlier machines have application-specific package requirements. Our XP 1000 two-seat Level Up listing identifies a 2017–2021 application. Check that package before treating the general tender and full-kit examples above as interchangeable choices for every earlier XP 1000.

KRX, Turbo R and General: different checks come first

Kawasaki KRX 1000

The KRX spring collection includes separate two-seat and four-seat packages, plus specified Live Valve and non-Live Valve tender applications. The two-seat non-Live Valve tender kit specifically excludes Showa shocks. Check the exact listing before choosing; a kit appearing in the KRX collection does not make it suitable for every KRX shock package.

Polaris RZR Turbo R

For a two-seat Turbo R with Fox shocks, the Fox tender kit retains the main springs. The two-seat dual-rate kit offers eight springs in the full package or four lower springs in the lowers-only option. Keep the seat count and installed shocks in view when comparing listings.

Polaris General and General XP

Start by separating General non-XP from General XP, then match seat count and shocks in the General spring collection. For example, the non-XP two-seat Fox tender kit retains the main springs and shocks. It is not the same application as the General XP two-seat kit. Our linked General XP two-seat, 64-inch tender spring kit fits all model years of that model. Use the actual available package rather than assuming every model has the same upgrade choices.

What if the ride is harsh or the machine sits low?

Those symptoms are useful information, but they do not identify the required kit by themselves. Record ride height with your usual passengers and cargo, note added accessories and describe when the problem occurs. A machine carrying a cab, spare tire and tools needs to be assessed with that weight in mind.

Also note leaking shocks, damaged parts or a recent change in handling. A spring kit does not repair a damaged damper. Our spring installation and setup guide explains the preparation checks and why settings must match the installed kit.

Check parts and setup before ordering

Review the description, selected package options and product gallery together to check the springs and hardware supplied. Our tender spring parts guide covers reused components and application-specific exceptions. Use the instructions for your vehicle, shocks and spring kit for installation and adjustment. A setup number from another model is not a substitute.

If you need help choosing, contact All Thingz UTV with your model year, full model name, seat count, installed shocks, added accessories and usual load. Tell us whether your priority is trail comfort, ride height or replacing an existing spring package. That gives us something specific to work from before you buy.
