Tender spring installation instructions
- Secure machine in Park. And then measure front ride height at forward, lower a arm mount, then record. Then measure rear ride height right below the tow hook, and record.
- Lube and clean threads on all shocks with wire brush and WD40 type lube.
- Lift the front of the machine and remove the shocks and put shock in vice upside down. Now with shock removed and in vice loosen the large top spanner nut utilizing the teeth. Loosen nuts all the way to the reservoir. Remove lower coupler and remove springs. Add new tender springs and reinstall the lower spring retainer utilizing the rented spring compressor. Tighten the spanner nut down 3 inches from black shock cap (where aluminum ends). Re-install shocks, tighten shock bolts, move machine forward or backward 5-6 feet to settle front and then set your ride height to listed recommendations below. Tightening the spanner down 1 inch will raise the machine 2inches , loosening the spanner toward top will lower the machine. Fine tuning is necessary because all machines are outfitted with different accessories and weigh differently.
Rear Tender Install
- Secure machine in Park. And then measure front ride height at forward, lower a arm mount, then record. Then measure rear ride height right below the tow hook, and record.
- Lube and clean threads on all shocks with wire brush and WD40 type lube.
- You do not have to completely remove
- Remove the wheel, loosen the top spanner nut and then you can spin the springs to get them loose enough to remove the lower retainer. Once loose you can then remove te lower shock bolt only. The top bolt can stay tight and torqued.
- Slide springs off the bottom of the shock.
- Install tender springs first and then main springs. Reinstall lower shock bolt and torque
- Move the spanner down adding 1 inch or preload.
- Reinstall the wheel and remove the machine from the jack. Drive the machine forward or backward 5-6 feet allowing the suspension to settle.
- Now run the spanner down to achieve recommended ride height. Tightening the spanner down 1 inch will raise the machine 2 inches
- If you have cross over rings, set them 2 inches above the black slider after you have set your ride height and lowered your machine and settled the suspension.
*******APPLYING SILENCER ******Silencer rings go under the crossover ring. Between black slider and crossover. The silencer ring keeps the black slider from slapping the crossover and making a noise.

In some instances you may need to utilize a spring compressor. If a compressor is needed you can borrow them from your local parts store.
Springs are labeled with location to where they need to be placed.
As a side note: kit may make noise or cause wear, as you are adding items that are not factory. All these things are normal and will cause no issues whatsoever.
Always remember when towing/trailering your machine to secure the machine over the tires, so springs aren’t potentially damaged. Please check out the website for all of your Polaris RZR needs
